Julienne B. Ryan spent the balance of her career working in Human Resources, developing talent and championing the benefits of developing diverse communities in corporations, associations and schools. Ryan has always focused on helping people be comfortable at work by communicating better. This involved using common sense, humor and storytelling to humanize challenging situations and interactions. Now she guides her clients helping them to use their stories to teach, motivate and engage their staff, volunteers and customers. Ryan is an organizational storyteller, a keynote speaker, trainer and coach is the author of the humorous book The Learned-It-In Queens Communications Playbook – Winning Against Digital Distraction”in which she outlines eight (8)winning“plays.” Techniques that promote calm communication and reduce conflict with quirky humor that keeps you smiling. Married for decades to a Dublin -born, Irishman, most of what she has learned about communication and patience comes from living with him, a man who never met a sentence he couldn’t make longer. Shes been trying to get a word in edgewise since they met. Ryan earned her M.A. in Organizational Psychology and Leadership from Teachers College, Columbia University, NY. She has a dual B.A. in Psychology/Urban Studies from Manhattan College, Riverdale, NY. She is a trained applied narrative coach (The Narativ Methodology, a certified Mentor -Collective Brains and a certified Accumatch Behavior Intelligence Coach. Ryan is a member of Collective Brains, The Mental Wellness Society and serves as the Chair of the Stories in Organizations Group (a National Storytelling Network SIG), The Northeastern Storytelling Group, The Blue Door Gallery, Arts Westchester, and numerous speaking and women leadership groups. She has also performed at comedy open mics just for the cheap thrill of it! Ryan has presented at national and regional conferences utilizing her storytelling and humorist gifts to engage, and entertain her clients. She has been a guest on numerous podcasts in the US and abroad.
